Daniel "Oakey" Berkeley Eary

January 19, 1969 - February 15, 2025

Daniel Berkeley Eary, also known as “Oakey”, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by his three daughters and close loved ones on Saturday, February 15, 2025. He was born on January 19, 1969, in San Diego, California, to the late Sgt. Charles Thomas and Joyce Darlene Halstead Eary.

“Oakey” enjoyed being outside fishing our local lakes and rivers. He loved motorcycles and the freedom he felt riding on the open roads. Oakey enjoyed playing cards, mainly Poker with his mom, before her passing last year. He loved his Glenvar Baptist Church family and spending quality time with all his grandkids. As his health declined over the last year, his grandkids and pets brightened his days.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving life partner, Virginia Finch; daughters, Kayla N. Eary (Vijay),Courtney D. Eary Jobe and husband, (Kenny), and Cheyenne R. Eary (Steven); grandchildren, Josiah Jobe, Elijah Jobe, Aubrie Wright, Christopher Nichols, and Skylar Nichols (Chipmunk); brother, Edward Eary and wife, Deborah; sister, Lora Muncy and husband, Rex; special friends, Margo Wolfe (Sister) and Ira Wolfe (Brother-in-law), Billy Law, Doug Perkins, and Mike Martin, as well as his adored fur babies, Teddy and Stella.

The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Friday, February 21, 2025, in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt King officiating. Interment immediately following in Sherwood Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Good Samaritan Hospice for their compassionate care and loving kindness, to Glenvar Baptist Church, Salem, for their prayerful support and to his daughter, Cheyenne, who served as his caretaker throughout his illness.
