Danny Eugene Spangler

Danny E. Spangler, of Salem, Va., expired at home surrounded by his loving family on August 11, 2023, at the age of 68.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Marie Weeks; father, Carlos Eugene Spangler; stepdad, Richard Weeks and beloved daughter, Crystal Marie Spangler.

He leaves behind the love of his life of 23 years, Sherry Upperman.  He also leaves behind:  brother, Ricky Spangler; children, Robert Spangler (Alicia), Danielle Spangler (Devin); grandchildren, Morgan (Ben), Brittany (Brandon), Leigha (Paul), Elizabeth, Ahlena, Kenna (Tyler), and Kyle (Kat); extended children, Stephanie, Joe, Josh, and Ella; great grandchildren, Walker, and Skylar (his punkadoodle, his little best friend, the ‘thief” of his snacks and candy).

Danny retired after 33 years with Roanoke County.  He enjoyed fishing, playing poker and bingo, was always a jokester, loved to carry on with anybody he met, and he loved hunting with his best friend, Rick Zirkle. 

Danny was a sweet, loving man and he was loved deeply.  We All love you PeePaw (“Love You, Mean it).”
