Danny Ray Pruitt

Danny Ray Pruitt, age 73 of Chatham, Virginia passed away Friday, August 8, 2025 at his residence. Mr. Pruitt was born February 7, 1952 in Danville, Virginia to the late Sally Roach Pruitt and the late Randolph Pruitt. He was married to Elizabeth “Libby” Watson Pruitt, who survives of the residence.

Danny was retired from Times Fiber Communications in Chatham and proudly served our country in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne. He enjoyed hunting, racing, and working on all types of cars. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori Hedrick Giles (Page), Cyndi Hedrick Gravely (Laurin II) and one son, Calvin Hedrick, Jr. (Jessica). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Abigail Giles, Christian Giles (Chelsie), Mallory Easley, Brianna Hedrick, Brenden Hedrick, Cassidy Gravely, and Channing Gravely; one great granddaughter, Winter Grace Landrum; one sister, Debbie Pruitt Jefferson; one sister-in-law, Jane Pruitt; two nephews, Dennis Pruitt and Justin Jefferson; one niece, Lindsey Jefferson.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by one brother, Randall Pruitt; and his brother-in-law, Michael Jefferson.

A visitation will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Christian Church Cemetery with Pastor Greg Hedrick and Pastor David Shumate officiating.

At other times the family will receive friends and family at the residence.
