Darlene Bell Humphries

Darlene Bell Humphries, 69, of Madison Heights, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born in Madison Heights on November 25, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Vernell Humphries. A longtime and faithful member of Elon Baptist Church, Darlene was known for her kind spirit and love for the outdoors. She worked for G.E. for a number of years until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Darlene found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—living on a farm, mowing the grass, and tending to her garden. But perhaps her greatest love was fishing, a hobby that brought her peace and contentment.

Darlene was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Humphries, and two sisters, Cynthia Stinson and Chancer Jamison.

She is survived by her sister, Brenda Staton (Clayton); nieces, Stephanie Humphries, Amy Tyree, Olivia Moore, and Tammy Stinson; and nephews, Paul Jamison and Dustin Stinson.

A service celebrating Darlene's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Elon Baptist Church, with Pastor Cody Bingham officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
