David Allen Lovern

David Allen Lovern, 71, of Roanoke passed away at Lewis Gale Medical Center.

A native of Virginia, he was the husband of 46 years to Carrie Forrester Lovern, who survives, and the son of Oakley and Annabelle Lovern, both deceased. David worked for Fort Lewis Hardware, Fred Whitaker, and Atlas Logistics during his career. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and kayaking.

In addition to his wife those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Pamela Lovern and fiancé Preston Straub and Heather Lovern and fiancé Beau Harrison; grandson, David “Little Man” Alexander Harrison; and two sisters, Jeannie Schillen and husband Wayne and Patricia Moneymaker and husband Clifton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Mottesheard, Barbara Shorter, and Peggy Carroll; and brother, Wayne Lovern.

A memorial service will be held at Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Salem on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
