Buddy was born in Montgomery County Virginia and is the son of Anna Byerle Poff and Everette Banyon Poff. He married Bobbie in 1958. He and she were high school sweethearts. Their marriage of over 66 years is a testament to the vows that they took long ago.
Buddy was in the Marine Corps and served honorably until discharged in 1964. He was an employee of Piedmont Airlines and later US Airways where he retired with 38 years of service. He greatly enjoyed all of his co-workers and his time at Woodrum Field and Roanoke Regional Airport.
Buddy and Bobbie both loved golf and enjoyed playing with many wonderful family and friends. Because of Buddy’s connection with the airline, they were able to travel quite a bit. They spent a great deal of time at their condo in Windy Hill, Myrtle Beach and the entire family made so many wonderful memories there. Buddy and Bobbie were members of Calvary United Methodist Church where both were always willing to lend a helping hand.
Buddy will be greatly missed by all of the friends and family who love him.
