David Gene Holley

David Gene Holley, 80, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on September 27, 2026. David was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on January 3, 1946 to the late Mary Ellen Oakes Holley and the late Russell Thomas Holley.

David was of the Christian Faith and was a member of Shermont Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a salesman in the Restaurant Supply Business. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

David is survived by a daughter; Teresa H. Bray and husband Todd of Eden, NC; a brother; Calvin Holley; two grandchildren; John Bray and Luke Bray; a nephew: Neal Holley; and three nieces; Sheila Colon, Judy Flowers, and Susan Alford.

In addition to his parents, David is predeceased by a brother; Raymond Holley; and a sister; Peggy Nolan.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 12:00pm at Shermont Baptist Church, Danville, VA with Pastor Ryan Riley officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00am-12:00pm, also at Shermont Baptist Church.
