David Hugh Hudson

David Hugh Hudson, of Amherst, Virginia passed away on January 13, 2026. David was born on July 1, 1960 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Carrington Hudson and late Minnie Florence Wilsher Hudson.

David worked as a Brick mason at Old Dominion Restoration. He loved attending his childhood church, Thomas Road Baptist. He enjoyed the outdoors and music, especially playing his guitar. He enjoyed playing all types of music including country, rock and bluegrass.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carrington Hudson and mother, Minnie Florence Wilsher Hudson. He is survived by his children, Tabitha Hudson(Stephen Bower), Samantha Hudson, David Loving (Barb), and Heather Loving; fiancé, Tammy Loving brother, Dean Hudson; Sisters, Belinda Simpson (Daniel) and Karen Parrish Clay); grand children, Marleigh Culmer, Paisley Bower, Gracelyn Bower, Jourdan Culmer, Aiden Lenneman, Isaiah Bell, Bear Sandifer, and Lily Loving; the mother of his children, Vickey Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the family homeplace . Driskill Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
