David Wayne Owens

David Wayne Owens, Jr., 63, of Roanoke, left his earthly life suddenly on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Born in Roanoke, Virginia, on August 6, 1963, David was an avid sports fan. His love of football ran especially deep, and those who knew him know there was never any question where his loyalty belonged. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan through and through.

David was a 30 year employee at Rowe Furniture and most recently worked at Kroger at Towers Mall. David was also a faithful member of Green Ridge Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laugh, and the caring nature that he showed for those around him. He especially valued time with his family and friends. David’s presence will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Gail Crisp Owens; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Robbie Brookshier; sister, Cheryl Owens; five nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Dale. He was preceded in death by his father, David Wayne Owens, Sr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
