David Wayne Rorke

David Wayne Rorke, 60, of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 7, 1963, son of Betty Jean Foster Rorke and the late Homer Page Rorke.

David was employed at Krispy Kreme of Roanoke where he had dedicated 30 plus years of his working career in service to the public. When he wasn’t at work, he enjoyed outdoor activities, especially the task of cutting wood. Most considered it work, but it was pure enjoyment to David. He also enjoyed trips to the beach with his wife, Kim, and during the winter times, you would often find him enjoying a ride in the snow where he could show off his 4-wheel drive capabilities. He and Kim enjoyed community activities, such as the local fair and the numerous car shows that often would arise, however, his eyes lit up anytime someone either mentioned, or better yet, tuned the tv to a Nascar race. Anyone that truly knew David knew that he lived and breathed Nascar.

Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his loving wife of 33 years, Kim Dempsey Rorke; mother, Betty Foster Rorke; sister, Elizabeth Bray; nieces, Tiffany and Breanna Coleman; and great nephews and nieces, Mitchell, Conner, and Anna Hartman, and Briella Scialpi.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, memorial services will take place at a later date.
