Deborah W. Byrd

Deborah W. Byrd, 72, of Collinsville, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Forsyth, North Carolina.

Born on August 15, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Austin and Jane Austin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joshua Shawn Lawson, and her sister, Karen Knight.

Deborah had a passion for cooking and cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She especially loved beach trips, which brought her great joy and relaxation.

Left to treasure her memory are her devoted husband of 36 years, Billy Byrd, Jr.; her three loving grandchildren, Ty Lawson, Sadie Lawson, and Matthew Lawson; her brother, Donnie Austin; her father-in-law, Billy Byrd, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

A memorial service to honor Deborah’s life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 12 Noon at Bassett Funeral Service, with Pastor Jason Alverson officiating.
