Delores Kay (Burton) Gravely

Mrs. Delores Kay Burton Gravely, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at her sister’s home in Wytheville, Virginia. Mrs. Gravely was born in Raleigh County, West Virginia to the late Junior Lester and Thelma Marie Cole Burton. Known to many as “Bootsie”, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Angel Burton Duncan and Rocky; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason Gravley and Stacy, Dewayne Gravely and Eliza; eight grandchildren, Isabella, Korbin, Mykel, Noah, Amy, Emma, Stephen, Jimmy; special sisters and caregivers, Beck Burton Ogle, Donna Burton Carpenter; additional sisters, Judy Burton Saunders, Thelma Burton Saddler, Shirley Burton Griggs, Melinda Burton Sheppard; her brothers, Larry Burton, Billy Burton; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gravely was preceded in death by her husband, Alden Derwin Gravely; a grandson, Dillon Anderson; sisters, Patricia Burton, Pamela Burton, Lisa Burton Russell; and brothers, James Alvin Burton and Johnny Burton. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Chaplin Darren Lamber officiating. Interment will take place following the service at 2:00 PM in the Thornspring Methodist Church Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia. No formal visitation will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
