Derrick Allen Dehart

DERRICK ALLEN DEHART, 44, of Bedford, formerly of Bland, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born July 5, 1979 in Bluefield, WV, the son of Orville & Connie Morehead DeHart.

Derrick was an active member of the Blue Ridge Community Church. He was employed by New River Electric and most recently, J.W. Didado Electric, and was member of the Local Union 317.

Preceded in death by his mother, Connie Morehead DeHart, Derrick was known for his infectious smile and laughter, always lighting up the room. He was a committed and selfless father, husband, son and brother. 

He is survived by his wife, Allyson Hobson Dehart; his greatest joys, his daughters, Cyara , Bailey, Everest and Finland; his father, Orville DeHart; his siblings, Angie & Keith Conley, Duane & Kristyna DeHart and Stephanie & Scott Shull; his mother-in-law, Diane Hobson; his father-in-aw, Greg Hobson; his sister-in-law, Stacy Scott; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Duane Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow Shiloh Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.
