Diana Elizabeth Cann

Diana Elizabeth Cann, 68, died peacefully on May 21, 2025 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

She was born on April 28,1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. The daughter of Ruth and Ted Cann, Beth graduated from Garrison Forest School and Mary Baldwin College.

She worked in the Nelson County school system for over 30 years as a much beloved Third grade teacher. Working at Schuyler Elementary, Ryan Primary, and Tye River Elementary, Beth educated and affected the lives of countless young students. Beth’s love of animals, science, and nature were personal passions. Her sense of humor and love of her students were qualities which defined her practice.

She is survived by her brother Doug and his wife Claire, and nephew Jordan of Bozeman, Montana. She is also survived by her sister Leslie, of Amherst, Virginia, and her sweet dogs. Bonnie and Sammie.

A celebration of life will be held in late June.
