Donald Keith Cunningham
Donald Keith Cunningham, age 93, of Chesterfield, Va. who was previously from Martinsville, Va. went to be with his maker on Friday, January 10, 2025. He was at home when he passed. He leaves behind 4 children, Donna (Karl) Mercer, Jeffery (Nita) Cunningham, Tami Perry and William (Jean-Carol) Cunningham. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Bill) Crank.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Cunningham; his parents, Newton and Violet Cunningham; brothers, Harvey, Bruce and Kendall Cunningham; and his sister, Jean Banton.
Keith was born in Gladys, Va. on May 12, 1931. He married Barbara Cunningham on December 27, 1952, and they raised 4 children together. He served 23 years in the Air Force and retired as a Master Sargeant.
He moved his family to Martinsville, Va. after retiring. He was then self-employed and drove a semi-truck coast to coast for North American Trucking Company for another 20 plus years. After retiring he drove a transport van for the City of Martinsville for several years.
He was a member of Calvary Christian Church and he was also a 58 year Master Mason in the Masons.
He and his wife moved to Chesterfield, Va. in March of 2020 to live with their daughter Tami and where he spent his remaining years.
He will be remembered for his dedication and love for his family and his uncanny dry sense of humor.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home located at 109 Broad Street, Martinsville, Va. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will be officiated by Reverend Mike Carrow. Interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
