Donald Lee Campbell

Donald Lee Campbell (61) of Amherst, VA. passed away on April 29, 2026.

Donald Campbell was born on July 27,1964 in Tachikawa, Tokyo, Japan. Donald was the son of Joe Harold Campbell and Janice Shortt Campbell. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother James Campbell, niece Jean Bond, and brother-in-law Emmett Holdren.

Donald is survived by his sisters Wanda Bond (James), Sharon Holdren (Emmett), his brother Joe D. Campbell (Peggy). His nieces April, Maranda, Jessie, Relene, Rebecca, and Kaley. His nephews Joshua, Jonah, Jason, and Jeremiah. Great nieces Halla, Isabella, Neveah, Kelsie, Kaylene, and Olive. Great nephews Ivan, Kaleb, Kyle, Brogan, Luke, Antonio, Abramn, Aurelius, Ethan, Elliott, and Gabe. As well as other family members and friends.

We would like to thank his special friends Tim, Frida, Janet, Harriet, and Oggie. Special thanks to his caretakers Leanne Wood and special thanks to the staff at Care Advantage.

Donald was a handyman, loved planting flowers, planting garden, and animals. Donald never met a stranger, and his door was always open to his friends. He loved attending Grateful Dead concerts. His family and friends will miss him dearly.

A graveside service will be held in Donald’s honor on Saturday May 2, 2026, at the Scharr Family Cemetery on Grandma’s Hill Road Amherst, VA. 24521 at 11AM with Brother Chris Shortt officiating. Driskill Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
