Donald Wayne Aaron
Donald Wayne Aaron Sr., 77, passed away on September 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born on March 10, 1947 in Danville, VA to the late Addie Pearl Merricks Aaron and the late George Houston Aaron. He was also predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Carolyn Hall Aaron.
He was of the Christian Faith and a member of River Oak Church of God. Donald received his calling as a minister over 59 years ago, during that time, he planted and pastored The Parker Road Baptist Church, during the seventies and part of the eighties. The church saw tremendous growth and the construction of a new facility. After his ministry there, he served three other churches in North Carolina, and shared the gospel anytime he had the opportunity to. In 1992 he began a career in Auto Sales at Auto Villa of Danville. He served there until his retirement in 2013. He was caring, happy go lucky, a prankster, and friend to all who knew him.
Donald is survived by a son; Wayne Aaron and his wife Tina of Danville, VA; two grandchildren; Courtney R. Connor (Allen) of Danville, VA and Kaitlyn E. Simonson (Brian) of Cleveland, TN; Four great grandchildren; Zeke, Jacob, Eli, and soon to be Josiah; and a sister; Angeline Merriman.
In addition to his wife and parents; Donald was predeceased by five sisters; Elizabeth George, Virginia Lashus, Margie Hiatt, Shirley Adkins, and Jewel Saunders; and four brothers; Charlie, Bobby, Junior, and Jack Aaron.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 2:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Reverend Samuel Edwards, Reverend Wayne Aaron Jr., and Reverend Don Whisnant officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1-2:00pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
