Donald Wayne Hartman

Donald Wayne Hartman, 89, of Danville, VA, formerly of Roanoke, VA, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025. He was a son of the late Frank W. Hartman and Sallie Stanback Hartman. Surviving are his son, David Wayne Hartman (Jenny); sister, Loretta H. Nienke; granddaughters, Jennifer Hartman and Jordan Finney (Jeff), and niece Kathy Owen (Larry), and nephew Michael Walls. He was predeceased by his brother, Gary Elwood Hartman.

Mr. Hartman was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Upon leaving the Navy, he returned home where he worked for Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company before transferring to Danville, VA. He retired from the United States Postal Service. Mr. Hartman was of the Christian faith, a proud member of Riverview Baptist Church in Danville, VA, and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and fishing. 

A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, March 31, 2025, at
Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road, Roanoke with Pastor Daniel Custer of Riverview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Hartman wished for donations to be made to the Brosville Volunteer Fire Department of Danville, VA or to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
