Donald Wayne Haymore

Donald Wayne Haymore, Sr., 86, of Danville, VA, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on February 29, 1940, to the late Mary Herndon Haymore and the late Uary Franklin Haymore. He was married to Charlotte Irene Chandler Haymore, who survives, of the residence.

Donald worked for many years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber in Danville as a tuber in cement and as a trucker. He was an avid hunter, he loved fishing and spending time at Topsail Island, NC. He also enjoyed reading and playing sudoku. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Cascade, VA, and a former member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Shannon Lee Combs of Wendell, NC; a sone, Donald Wayne Haymore, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Ringgold, VA; grandchildren, Kris Combs of Wendell, NC, Danielle Crawford (Cole) of Reidsville, NC, Trey Haymore of Crestview, FL and great-grandchildren, Clive Crawford and Clayton Crawford.

In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by a sister, Joan Haymore Hudson, a brother, Larry Franklin Haymore, and a granddaughter, Alexis Hawker.

Memorial services will be conducted at the West End Chapel of Norris Funeral Home, 511 Church Ave., Danville, on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor David Hatcher. A visitation of friends will precede the funeral service, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., also at the West End Chapel of Norris Funeral Services.
