Donna Lynn Wray

Donna went to her heavenly home Friday, May 3, 2024 joining her parents Stafford Porter Wray and Gladys Love Wray along with her brother Larry Stafford Wray. She was also predeceased by two special aunts that were like mothers to her, Reva Love Harrison Young and Mildred Wray Kendrick. She is survived by her uncles, Clarence Love and Cecil Love. Also, surviving are her maternal cousins, Wanda Love Martin, Linda Love Wray (Alvin) Denise Young Bryant (Ronnie) and Wendell (Josh) Love (Pam), Holli Martin, Kristen Williams Ray (Ben), Julia Allaman (Chris), Hannah Wray, Thomas Wray, Avery Allaman. Paternal cousins, Wade Kendrick (Sherry)Richard Moore (Ellen), Lori Hairfield (Tim) Rhonda LaPrade (Darryl), HD Woody (Donna), Landon Hairfield (Madison), Dallas Woody (Jessica), Stephanie Woody Wallis (Adam). Mattie Laprade. Cyndi Sutton (Andy) along with many other family members and friends. Donna was known in Rocky Mount for her love for Rocky Mount and was known to say, "Love where you live". She believed in supporting small town businesses and was the owner of BloomingDeals. She served on the board for Community Partnership Board as the President. She loved organizing and preparing for events such as Court Days and Come Home to a Franklin County Christmas along with the scare crows that lined the sidewalks when Autumn started. Also, she was a graduate of Franklin County Class of 1971 and Virginia Western Community College & a previous member of Omicron, Beta Sigma Phi. Donna lived life to the fullest, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being the life of the party. She will be remembered for her outspoken wit and unique laugh. Her favorite thing to do was talk with folks that visited BloomingDeals. And Donna never met a stranger. Her favorite saying when she told a story, or a tidbit of information was "there you go." Donna's family members would like to express their appreciation to everyone for the prayers, phone calls and willingness to help during Donna's illness. A Celebration of Donna's Life will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel Saturday, May 18, 2024 with the visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. and the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating.
