Donnie "D.J." Ray Spencer

May 6, 1970 - June 4, 2024

Donnie “D.J.” Spencer Jr., 54, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. D.J. was born on May 6, 1970 in Kittery, Maine to Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Thompson Spencer and the late Donnie Ray Spencer Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Carmen Martin Spencer.

D.J. was of the Christian faith. He wore a hat of many titles, as Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Brother in Law, Uncle, Great uncle or “Unk” and Grandfather. He was also a proud dance Dad. He was currently employed by CKS in Durham, NC, and was a proud US Navy Veteran.

In addition to his wife, D.J. is survived by; daughter; Sophia Spencer; son; Jacob Almashy (Kim); sister; Janelle Gammon; sister in love; Kim Meadows (Vern); brothers; Scott Spencer (Wanda), Derrick Thompson (Ali), and Steve Thompson (Angela); grandchild; Atlas Almashy; nieces; Kayla Fisher (Craig), Karli Manley (Nathan), and Lori Moore (Shannon); nephew; Daniel Clark (Caitlin); and great nieces and nephews; Sadie Manley, Aiden Rivero, Emily, Colin and Delaney Moore, and Sadie and Riley Clark.

In addition to his father, D.J. was predeceased by a nephew; Denny “Bubba” Clark Jr.

The family would like to sincerely thank you all for your love and support over the past couple months. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 2-3:30pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540
