Donnie G. Cox

Donnie G. Cox, 48, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. He was born on April 20, 1975, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Bobby James Cox and Mary Ann Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Ratcliff, and a brother, Junior Cox.

Donnie was a quiet soul and could make friends very easily. He was an avid lover of all things wolves and Indians. He enjoyed listening to music, riding his mopeds, his fur baby, Sweetie, and spending time with his family and friends.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Samatha Cox; two brothers, Lucky Cox and Robert Cox (Paula); a nephew, Michael Cox; a niece, Summer Cox; a sister-in-law, Chrstina Hancock; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Junior Waller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. A burial will follow at Franklin Family Cemetery in Rocky Mount, Virginia.
