Doris Jean Jones

Doris Jean Jones, age 80, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, May 31, 2026, at her home. She was born in Craig County, Va., on June 27, 1945, to the late Claude and Katherine Bradley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Jones; son-in-law, Donivan Sledd; brothers, Gary Bradley, C.G. Bradley, and Bobby Bradley. She retired from Virginia Tech after 32 years as a housekeeping supervisor. She is survived by her daughters, Becky Hunter and Tammy Sledd; grandsons, Andrew Hunter, Dustin Martin, Logan Martin, and Roger Linkous; granddaughter, April Linkous; great-grandchildren, Kenzie Hunter, Alexis Hunter, Lindsey Myers, Destiny Myers, Michael Myers, Violet Linkous, Kristen Myers; and brother, Ralph Bradley. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Simon Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until noon before the service.
