Doris Maxine "Mack" Thomas

Doris Maxine “Mack” Thomas, 88, of Brooklyn, NY, formerly of Henry, VA, departed the life Sunday, January 29, 2023 at her home. She was born in Franklin County on March 12, 1934 to the late Joseph C. Craig and the late Ethel Stanley Craig. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Lawyer Thomas; siblings Nannie Lee Brooks, Alberta Kibler, William Stanley, Roosevelt Craig and Mary "Geneva" Craig Akridge.

“Mack” was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.  She was dedicated to making sure the family stays together.

Maxine is survived by her son, Eddie (Justice) Thomas; three grandchildren, Arri, Justin and Erik; 3 great grandchildren, Jayden, Arriel and Luna with Othello on the way in June and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 am with Evangelist Tomeka Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow the service in the Stanley Family Cemetery.
