Dorothy "Dot" Marie Jeffreys Vanvalkenburg

Dorothy Jeffreys VanValkenburg, 100, of Salem, VA passed away Christmas Eve to be with her “Loverboy” husband Raymond F. VanValkenburg on Sunday, December 24, 2023.

Born in Johnson City, NY to the late George A. Jeffreys and Isabel Bearss Jeffreys on Good Friday, March 30, 1923.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Harold, and Keith Jeffreys.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Sherry Reynolds (Stephen), Donna Crotts (Howard), and Robin Eller (Stephen); brother Robert D. Jeffreys (Pat); grandchildren, John Reynolds, David Reynolds, Paul Eller, and Keri Landry; nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews; and sister-in-law, Gayle Jeffreys.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Oaks at Richfield Salem, Good Sam, and the Volunteers from the First United Methodist Church.

The family will welcome friends on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home located in Salem. A graveside will be held at Sherwood Memorial Park on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Bobby Pickle officiating.
