Dorothy Theresa Ann Hynes Crum

Dorothy Theresa Ann Hynes Crum was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 15, 1924, to the late Frank and Marie Hynes. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William “Doug” Crum; brother, Joseph Hynes; sister, Francis Marie Regina Blob; and her three sons, Dennis Gerard, Gilbert Douglas Crum, and Gary William Crum.

Dorothy and William Crum were married June 29, 1952, in Baltimore, MD. They moved to Martinsville, VA in July of 1965. Due to Doug being transferred with DuPont. She retired from Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, VA after 13 years of service being a secretary. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church since 1965.

She is survived by sons, Gregory Alton Crum, Glenn Joseph Crum, and Gerad Fredrick Crum; two granddaughters; and three granddaughters.

A private memorial will be held in the spring at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, Maryland. St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church will have a Mass for Dorothy, with a date to be determined.

The family would like to thank the services of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care. Especially Megan, Michelle, Kathy, Lorrainne and the caregivers, Sarah Shante and Alexis that assisted our mother in her final months.

A special thanks to Barabara Kurtz who brought communion and prayers to the home, each Sunday.
