Douglas 'Slug' Bishop

Douglas ‘Slug’ Bishop moved his earthly residence to his Heavenly one on Sunday, December 17th, 2023. He is now free from all the years of pain and suffering. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Nelson and Audrey Bishop.He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marie Hall Bishop; daughter Gloria Bishop; Christian Kirkwood; brother Steven Bishop & his wife Sherry; sister-in-law Rhonda Hall; brothers-in-law John ‘Johnny’ Hall and Billy Keatts; granddaughter Alexis Akers; numerous cousins: numerous special and beloved nieces and nephews; and special friend Wayne Paxton.Doug was adventurous to a fault. He loved fast-cars, wild horses, drawing, and playing guitar. Once he found out he had Scottish ancestry, he developed a love of not only the country, but what his ancestors had carried out and established in and throughout Scotland and Scottish history. More than anything, Doug loved his daughter and especially his grandchildren. A memorial/service will be held on Saturday, December 23rd at Living Water Christian Church at Northside located at 5110 Florist Road.
