Dwayne Lee Grogan

October 6, 1960 - May 31, 2026

Dwayne Lee Grogan, 65, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1960, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late Charles “Pete” Wayne Grogan and Doris Montgomery Grogan.

Dwayne was a lifetime mechanic of machinery, working for different companies throughout the years. He was a dedicated lifetime member of the Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department. Dwayne attended Smith Memorial United Methodist Church in Collinsville, Virginia.

Dwayne was a devoted homebody and enjoyed the simple pleasure in life – watching the Carolina Panthers, racing, especially NASCAR (a devoted Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan) and Andy Griffith, spending quality time with his family, and feeding animals in his back yard – deer, squirrels and birds. His passion for birds moved him to set up a bird sanctuary in his back yard which earned him a plaque from the National Wildlife Federation in recognition of his efforts. He enjoyed Mexican food accompanied by a cold Miller Light.

Dwyane leaves behind the following family to cherish his memory: wife, Kay Grindstaff Grogan; daughter, Megan Mabe; grandson, Jeremy Nunn; his Aunt Carol Sharp and Uncle Gene Sharp; his Aunt Margaret Shockley; brother-in-law, Scott Grindstaff (Lisa); sister-in-law, Joy Axson (Peter); his beloved dogs, Harley, Mollie, and Lillie; and the cat outside, Tux. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services for Dwayne will be at a later date determined by his family.
