Earl Roles

Earl Elmore Roles III, age 69, of 188 Old Fincastle Road, Fincastle, Virginia and formerly of Clifton Forge, Virginia died Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.
Earl was born March 30, 1954 in Clifton Forge to the late Earl Elmore Roles, Jr. and Mary Durvin Roles. He was a retired psychologist who worked for the Alleghany Highlands Community Services Board. He enjoyed listening to music and watching John Wayne movies. He loved target shooting, cooking, raising chickens, and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Roles, and an uncle, Benny Durvin.
He is survived by a brother, Jeff Roles of Florida, and a special friend, Tom Simmons of Hot Springs.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. There will be a time for friends and family to visit on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
