Edward Crance
Edward Lynwood “Linnie” Crance, age 71, of 3500 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at his residence.
Linnie was born on April 5, 1955 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Edward Lee Crance and Martha Alma Dodd Crance. He was a 1974 graduate of Clifton Forge High School and a meter service provider for over forty years with Dominion Power. He was a skilled handyman, and was well known for assisting those in need with many area service projects. Linnie was a longtime active member of the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge # 1065 B.P.O.E. and also met regularly for lunch with the retired Virginia Power fellows. He enjoyed playing golf, watching Dallas Cowboys and University of Virginia football, and especially loved being with family.
In addition to his parents, Linnie was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie Crance and a brother, Russell Lee “Rusty” Crance.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Walthall Crance, and two daughters, Jessika Crance (Davey) and Sarah Crance (Ethan), all of Clifton Forge; a son, Tyler Crance (Ashlie) of Roanoke; three sisters, Betty Crance of Fincastle, Sue Wood (Greg) of Lynchburg, and Bonnie Crance of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, Cindy Crance of Lexington; two grandchildren, Abbi Riley and Carson Crance; a number of nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Jerry Meyer, Richard Duncan, Robert Chittum, David Buchanan, Matthew Crance, Ken Yeagley, Todd Crance, and Greg Wood. The family will visit with friends on Sunday evening from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home.
