Edwinna Marie Ward

Edwinna Marie Ward, 68, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026. She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, on January 6, 1958, to the late Edwin Reel and Lillian Gwen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Adam Ward; and brothers, Mickey Reel, Tommy Reel, and Kenneth Reel.

Edwinna was of the Christian faith. She found a fulfilling career as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed trips to the beach, but her greatest joy was in spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ricky Lee Ward; daughters, Janice Marie Turner, Kyleigh Coleman; sons, Robert Reel, Chad Coleman, Ross Coleman; brother, Edwin Reel; grandchildren, Nikki Richardson, Issac Shelton, Savannah Shelton, Alexis Coleman, Brooklyn Coleman, Gage Coleman, Lydia Coleman, Zachary Shelton, Gracie Ward, Chase Ward, Jasmine Fain, Cain Coleman; and great-grandchildren, Preston Coates, Julia Coates, Nova Lee Coates, Hunter Coates, Jasper Dalton, Zamira Dalton, A.J. Fain, Benjamin Fain, Ezekiel Shelton, Wyatt Kidd, and Muliani Janis.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel with Pastor Terry Dalton officiating.
