Elder Samuel Washington Edwards

Elder Samuel Washington Edwards Sr., age 81, of Lambsburg, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at his home. He was born on February 6, 1944, in Carroll County to the late Alex and Luannie Baker Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will surely be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Merkie Edwards; sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel “Bo” Edwards Jr. and Crystal, Daniel “Danny” Edwards and Sabrina; grandchildren, Joshua and Tabitha Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Paige Edwards, Warren Edwards; great-grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Samuel “Bubba” Edwards; sisters and brother-in-law, Lucy (Steve) Lindsay, Hattie Galyean; brothers and sister-in-law, George Edwards, Bruce Edwards, J.J (Linda) Edwards. In addition to his parents Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorie Leeann Edwards; sisters, Virginia Galyean, Mary McBride and Naomi Lindsay; brothers, Elder David Edwards, Daniel Edwards, Matthew Edwards, Isaac Edwards, John Edwards. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church with services conducted by Elders Rodney Marshall, VJ Hawks, Eddie Lyle and Avery Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist Church.
