Eldon Lee Bowman
Eldon Lee Bowman born January 16, 1949, departed this life on November 15, 2024 at 75 years 9 months and 29 days. He married Brenda (Jones) on January 18, 1969 and they had almost 56 years together. After getting married they lived in Hagerstown, Maryland where he served 2 years doing his CO service. They then returned to Franklin County where they raised their family and dairy farmed until his retirement. Then he patiently endured cancer and dementia the last few years of his life. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Benjamin & Karen, Amos & Danelle, Ivan & friend Casey Young & her son Dean, one daughter Heather & Morris Bowman; twelve grandchildren, Darien & Hannah Bowman, Cody Bowman, Torie Bowman, Lee & Madeline Bowman, Tyler & Jasmin Bowman, Kaylan & Sheldon Reece, Tess & Joshua Crews, Alaina & Trenton Landes, Belle Bowman, Pearl Bowman, Skyler Bowman, & Payton Bowman; two great-grandchildren, Wesley & Willow Bowman, one sister Wylenia & Wayne Layman; one brother Galen & Vicki Bowman; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Bowman & Virginia Bowman, one brother-in-law, Lewis Brubaker; and many nephews & nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, James Ezra & Annie Mae (Montgomery); his in-laws Casey & Nadine Jones; two brothers, Elwood & Okey Bowman; one sister, Rebecca & Randolph Brunk; three sisters-in-law, Diane Brubaker, Sandra & Doug Laprade & Janet Jones; two brothers-in-law, Henry & Sarah Jones and David Jones. The family would like to thank everyone for all the love, support & prayer during his illness. The family also requests no flowers. A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Church Cemetery, 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 with Elder Calvin Montgomery and Greg Hubbard officiating. His family will receive friends at Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Church from 5-8 p.m. Monday. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
