Elijah Laquon Kirby

Elijah Laquon Kirby, age 24, of Danville, Virginia passed away April 30, 2024, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born November 14, 1999, in Danville to Melissa Harris Mendenhall (Curtis Mendenhall) and Timothy Kirby.

Elijah enjoyed playing his games and listening to music, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, Providence, NC.

In addition to his parents, Elijah was survived by his siblings, Anasisa Kirby, Derrick Mendenhall, Donte Mendenhall, Damier Mendenhall, Darius Mendenhall, and Timothy Kirby, as well as grandparents, Rosetta Harris, Carolyn Fitzgerald, Janice Metts, and great-grandmother, Inez Mendenhall. In addition, Elijah is survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

Funeral services to honor the life of Elijah will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024, officiated by Rev. Roderick Fitz. Interment will follow the funeral service at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA. A visitation by family and friends will take place at Norris Funeral Services, West End Chapel, Danville, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday May 5, 2024.
