Elizabeth Akridge Norman

Elizabeth Akridge Norman, 83, of Bassett, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at Mulberry Creek Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Bassett, Virginia, Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of the late James Akridge and Christine Lewis Akridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Utah Akridge, Matthew Akridge, Joseph Akridge, Johnny Akridge, and Robert Akridge; and her sisters, Hattie Edwards, Mary Akridge, and Hastie Moore.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving sons, Eric Norman, Tracy Norman, Trevor Norman, and Warren Norman; her daughter, Angela Small; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Akridge and Marie Akridge; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Elizabeth was known for her beautiful poetry and heartfelt letters, which reflected her thoughtful and caring spirit. She found joy in singing and drawing. Her creativity, kindness, and devotion to family and faith touched many lives and will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on through the family she cherished and the many lives she inspired.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Akridge Family Cemetery, located at 16 Overhill Drive, Bassett, Virginia 24055, with Pastor Jason Alverson officiating.
