Ellen Fayne Snead

Ellen Fayne Nicely Snead, age 87, of 3608 Smith Woods Place, Glen Allen, Virginia, formerly of Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge died on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in Henrico County, Virginia.
She was born June 27, 1935 in Alleghany County to the late Earl James Nicely, Sr. and Thelma Edith Nicely. Ellen was a secretary for Alleghany High School. She was a member and Treasurer of Sharon Baptist Church, Clifton Forge. She enjoyed reading and loved her family.
In addition to her a parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Leland Snead, Sr.; a son, Wesley Leland Snead, Jr.; two sisters Monada Leila Nicely and Janet Daniel Vance; and three brothers, Winfred Verts Nicely, Sr., Clinton Wayne Nicely, and James Earl Nicely, Jr.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Debbie Snead of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Jill Susanne Wheelin and husband Michael of Glen Allen, and Heather Lynn Hogan and husband Vincent of Virginia Beach; four great-grandchildren, Isabella Grace Hogan, Brady Michael Hogan, Abigail Kaylee Wheelin, and Mason Caleb Wheelin.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Reverend Virgil Woodie officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Michael Wheelin, Vincent Hogan, Ralph Lee Tucker, Buddy Buchanan, Michael Nicely, and Terry Loving. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Nicely Funeral Home.
