Elvin "Tom" Thomas Worley Jr.

Elvin “Tom” Thomas Worley Jr., 79, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Elvin was born in Danville, VA on February 15, 1947 to the late Alice Adelaide Adkins Worley and the late Elvin Thomas Worley Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Gloria “Jean” Emerson Worley.

Tom was of the Christian Faith and a past member of Westover Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He worked for many years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, previous to his retirement. He very much enjoyed woodworking, in his spare time.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by a son; Phillip Worley (Amy) of Chatham, VA; two brothers; Larry Worley (Donna) and Mark Worley (Susan); a grandchild; Savannah Gammon; and three nephews; Scott Worley (Toni), Michael Worley, and Joseph Worley (Hannah).

A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 11:00am at Danville Memorial Gardens with Pastor David Turbyfill officiating. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
