Emilie White Wooldridge

Emilie White Wooldridge, 89, of Martinsville, Va. passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was born in Henry County, Va. January 30, 1937, to Edward Nelson White and Helen Claybrook White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Carlton Wooldridge, Jr.; her brother Charles M. White and sister, Florence W. Disbrow.

Emilie is survived by her daughters, Karen W. Pratt (John) of Martinsville and Kim W. Willis (John) of Greensboro, N.C.; sons, John C. “Jay” Wooldridge III of Martinsville and C. Michael Wooldridge of Axton, Va.; sister, Virginia Levi and brother B. Scott White of Collinsville; grandchildren, Justin C. Wooldridge (Jana), Tyler S. Wooldridge (Keeley), Katherine S. Belcher, Tristan W. Sarver (Colby); great grandchildren Kennedy Sarver, Callen Wooldridge and Leah Wooldridge

Emilie graduated from Drewry Mason High School in 1955. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was an avid golfer, bridge player and bowler. A couple of her favorite things to do were spending time with her friends over lunch and watching ACC basketball.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Martinsville.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at First United Methodist Church of Martinsville and will be officiated by Reverend Ron Mateer. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

A private interment will be in the Horsepasture Christian Church Cemetery.
