Ernest Wayne Davis

Ernest Wayne Davis, age 77 of Pelham, NC passed away Friday, June 5, 2026 at SOVAH Health Care in Danville, Virginia. Mr. Davis was born April 13, 1949 in Danville, Virginia to the late Loretta Hoskins Davis and the late Joseph B. Davis.

Mr. Davis worked for Lowes of Danville until his retirement. He will always be remembered as a kind and humble person to everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his companion of many years, Ms. Martha Warren; his cousin, Mark Hoskins and his wife Vivian, who helped care for him; his aunt, Hilda Young; and numerous cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was also predeceased by his beloved son, Joseph Wayne “JW” Davis; and his brother, James Lloyd “Jim” Davis.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2026, 2:00 p.m. at Danville Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center for their loving and compassionate care, and also SOVAH Health for their care during the last week.
