Estol Allen Newberry

ESTOL ALLEN NEWBERRY, 79, of the Mechanicsburg Community of Bland, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was born July 13, 1943 in Mechanicsburg, VA, the son of the late Maynard & June Newberry.

Allen was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather and was a well-respected member of the community. He was a member of Central Church and served as superintendent for many years. Allen enjoyed farming and worked at the livestock market for many years.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Allen & June Elizabeth Mustard Newberry and his brothers, Jim Newberry and Jerry Newberry.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of almost 58 years, Norma Guthrie Newberry; his son & daughter-in-law, Ryan & Amy Newberry; his beloved granddaughters, Haley Michelle & Hannah Grace; his brothers, John Newberry and Larry Newberry and his sister & brother-in-law, Debbie & Malcolm Boothe.

Per his wishes, Allen has been cremated. A memorial service is planned for Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Central Church with Rev. Dr. Kevin Richardson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Allen’s honor to either Central Church, P.O. Box 263, Bland, VA 24315 or Bland County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 585, Bland, VA 24315.
