Ethel Jones

Ethel Plymale Jones, age 96 of Bassett, VA passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024.

Mrs. Jones was born on December 16, 1928 in Pittsylvania County to the late Dave Plymale and the late Sally Hines Tuck Plymale. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Beecher “BJ” Jones and a daughter, Betty Jo Mullins. She was retired from Dupont where she was employed for over 37 years. She loved dancing with her friends and working outside the home. She also loved her family, other friends and her church family. She was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church.

Ethel is survived by her son, Billy “Butch” Jones, three grandchildren, Steven Reeves, Susan Ramsey (Kendall), Billy Joel Jones, two great-grandchildren, Peyton Ramsey and Taylor Ramsey.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
