Eugene Alverson

Eugene Daniel Alverson, age 78, of 1725 Main Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia and formerly of Bassett, Virginia died on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the Alleghany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge.

Eugene was born on June 28, 1946 in Henry County, Virginia to the late William Wesley Alverson and Verna Estell Cassell Alverson (Jessee). He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bassett.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie M Clark and a brother, Pete Alverson.

He is survived by a daughter, Misty Rigney of Stoneville, NC; a son, Wesley Alverson of Martinsville; two sisters, Lucille Finney of Collinsville and Libby Rae of Rocky Mount, VA; a brother, Billy Alverson of Bassett; four grandchildren, Sydney Cobbler, Shaye Cobbler, Carlyanne Alverson, and Hunter Alverson.

At the request of the family, his body was cremated. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Community Baptist Church in Bassett, VA.
