Eugene Reynolds

Rev. Dr. Eugene Reynolds, I, 86, transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at his home. He was born in Henry County, VA   a son of the late Davie and Alverta Spencer Reynolds on June 18, 1938.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Cleopatra Dodson Reynolds.

Rev. Reynolds was a U. S. Army veteran and was a member of Antioch Christian Church (DOC) where he served as Associate minister.  He was retired from Jerusalem Christian Church (DOC) where he pastored for 40 years.  He was a member of the American Legion Homer Dillard Post #78 and was past president of the Patrick County branch of the NAACP.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Paula Lisa (Maurice) Dawson, of North Chesterfield, VA; and Dr. Kimetta Hairston, of Laurel, MD; one son, Dr. Eugene (Lisa) Reynolds, II, MD of Gastonia, NC; two sisters, Annie Young, of Chester, VA; and Ozelma Ingram, of Bassett, VA; two brothers, Dana (Maud) Reynolds, of Martinsville, VA; and Eddie Penn, of Bassett, VA; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM    at Jerusalem Christian Church (DOC) with Rev. Barry Hylton, presiding and Rev. Dr. William Lee, eulogist.  Burial will follow in the Reynolds Family Cemetery in Martinsville, VA.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at 658 Stella Loop, Spencer, VA  on Sunday and Monday April  20, and  21,  2025 between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 PM.  A public viewing will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services.
