Eunice Ruth (Collins) Holt

Mrs. Eunice “Ruth” Collins Holt, age 82 of Mount Airy passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Holt was born on June 4, 1942, in Surry County to the late James B. and Ester Boyles Collins. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Ruth was a faithful member of the Salvation Army Church where she played the piano for many years. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Robin Howard and husband Keith, Theresa Coalson and husband Brad, Michael Holt and wife Becky, Melissa Athey and husband John, Susan Holt and Daniel; five grandchildren and their spouses, Sam Holt, Nathan Holt and wife Ashley, Savannah Bullins and husband Corbin, Taylor Coalson and wife Sommer, Sydni Coalson; great-grandchildren, James Lee Holt, Paisley Holt, Locklon Holt, Birdie Kate Coalson; two sisters and brother-in-law, Annie Lee Collins Vernon, Rachel Collins Puckett and husband Leon; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holt was preceded in the death by her husband of 62 years, James Roosevelt Holt; three sisters, Lindie Collins Riddle, Virginia Collins Leftwich, Hazel Collins Surratt; four brothers, Harvey Collins, Rossie Collins, Gene Collins, Dennis Collins. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Captain Jeff and Lea Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the McBride Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Moody Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Church, 651 S South Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
