Florence Almarode Peters

November 21, 1926 - May 25, 2024

Florence Almarode Peters, 97, widow of Martin Glenn Peters, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2024. She was a daughter of the late Thomas and Martha Fitzgerald Peters. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Wilson and her husband Roger, and five siblings.

Florence accepted Christ at the age of 12 and lived her life in sincere devotion to the Lord. She was known for Christian charity, dedication to ministering to others, and serving as a Christian example to her family and friends. She loved to sew and spent many years working as a seamstress. She also enjoyed any type of crafting, as well as baking – her homemade bread was famous.

She will be missed and remembered by her children, Dale Peters, Sue Ellen Morris (Victor), Mary Beth Duff (Dennis), and Martha Crawford (Jon); 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Lucy Tkachenko; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

A Celebration of Florence’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at New Life Christian Ministries with Pastor Tony Atkinson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 pm.

Two things that were a large part of Florence’s life were sewing and world missions. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Advancing Native Missions, www.advancingnativemissions.com , designated “In memory of Florence Peters”. These donations will be used to supply sewing centers for women in third world countries who have no means of support.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the entire staff of Friendship North Assisted Living for the care that was shown to their entire family.
