Floyd Eugene Brannock

Mr. Floyd Eugene "Gene" Brannock, 77, of Mount Airy passed away at Chatham Rehab and Nursing on August 28, 2026. He was born on April 5, 1949 in Mount Airy, North Carolina to the late Jim and Josie Towe Brannock. Mr. Brannock served as a proud member of the United States Army, achieving the rank of Sargent, and was a brick and stone mason by trade, and his work can be seen all throughout the county. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Renee Brannock, son and daughter-in-law Bryan Eugene and Amber Brannock, as well as granddaughters Savannah Ashley Brannock and Abbie Marie and Kody Redmond; Grandsons Jacob Jim Brannock, Creed Stanley Willard, and Brodey Chap Willard; great-grandson Kolt James Redmond; sisters Evelyn Dowell, Shirley and Kennith Davis, and Carolyn Edwards. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brannock was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Beck Brannock, and step-daughter Susan Lynette Reynolds. A funeral service will be held on Friday September 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Ernie Smith and Rev. Jimmy McCraw. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens with Military Honors by VFW Post #2019 of Mt. Airy and Post #9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
