Floyd Howard Johnson

Floyd Howard Johnson, Jr. (Pige) 82, of Danville passed away on Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at his residence. He was born December 12, 1940 in Danville, VA to the late Howard Johnson Sr and the late Christine Clapp Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Caudle Johnson.

Howard was a man of many hobbies including growing over 200 types of orchids while living over 30 years in Lakeland, Florida. He was an avid reader and history buff and also enjoyed building wooden model boats. He volunteered many hours in the Genealogy dept of the Danville Public Library helping people trace their family history.

In addition to his loving wife, he is also survived by sons; Matt Johnson and Jeff Burchett (Kerri), a sister Annette Pankuch and son-in-law Don Thorson; four grandchildren; Kyle Burchett (Lisa), Joey Burchett, Joshua Burchett, Alexis Burchett and two great-grandchildren; Reese Burchett and Sloane Burchett.

In addition to his parents, Howard was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Beverly Thorson and son Alan Burchett.

Howard was a man of faith and loved all of his friends at Shermont Baptist Church where he was a faithful member.

A celebration of life will be conducted at Shermont Baptist Church at a later date.
