Fran F. Eden

Fran Eden, 79, of Cloverdale Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026. Fran was born in Richlands Virginia on August 18, 1946, to the late William R. and Mary Frances Fleming.

Fran was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who found great joy in caring for the people she loved. She was married to her husband, John, whom she met when she attended Bluefield College and together, they built a loving family centered around warmth, laughter, and togetherness.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John Eden, daughters Kim Simon (Bruce) and Kerri Cole (Jeff); her cherished grandchildren, Kristen Simon, Jessica Simon, and Andrew Gardner (Gabbie); and her sisters, Peggy Fleming and Nell Fleming.

Fran worked as an office manager and was known for her strong work ethic and caring nature. Outside of work, she loved cooking for her family and hosting gatherings where everyone felt welcome. She enjoyed trying different cuisines, reading, watching tennis, and cheering on Virginia Tech football.

Her family will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and the love she showed through the meals she prepared and the memories she created around the table.

Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service, and she will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, whose staff provided wonderful care and compassion to Fran in her final days. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Chapel. (540)366-0707.
