Frances Ann (Tuttle) Vaughn

March 11, 1939 - March 24, 2024

Frances Ann (Tuttle) Vaughn, 85, widow of Gayle B. Vaughn, began her journey with God on Palm Sunday. March 24, 2024. She was born in Martinsville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart, and Lucy Tuttle.

Frances is survived by her children, Mitzi George. Kim McAlexander (Bobby), Trudy Bateman (Danny), and Gene Vaughn; son in law, Mikee Watson. Frances was blessed with 16 grandkids, 31 great-grandkids, and 3 great-great-grandkids. Frances is survived by her siblings, Hobart Tuttle Jr., David Tuttle, Teresa Akers, Toni Mize, Lorrie Gilley, Terri Mays, and Belinda Cassell.

Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Chris A. Watson, son in law, Donald George; siblings, Donna Tuttle, Sarah Taylor, Larry Tuttle, J.T. Tuttle, Debra Mize; and her great-grandson, Gabriel Vaughn.

Frances leaves a great legacy behind as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Frances served as a Naval wife alongside her husband, volunteering in the military community for 20 years. Frances volunteered at several Martinsville nursing homes, bringing comfort and joy to the residents and staff. They always looked forward to her warm smile and tootsie pops. She was honored with a certificate of volunteer of the year.

Frances was a remarkable woman who was like no other. She was the glue that kept her family together. Her smile lit up wherever she went, and will be missed by many. Her heart was filled with gold. She touched everyone that she met, with her unconditional love. Frances is a child of God; she accepted Jesus as her Savior and King. Her name will be called up yonder for the work she did in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 11:00am at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. A burial will follow at Henry Memorial Park.
