Frances Elliott Cheek

Frances Elliott Cheek, 79, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by her family. Frances was born in Reidsville, VA on January 10, 1947 to the late Madeline Frances Toler Elliott and the late Lee Odell Elliott. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Jackie Larry Cheek Sr.

Frances was of the Christian Faith, and a member of Danville Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of the Pocahantas Wyanette Council #22, where she served in several different leadership positions. She was a loving Homemaker. She also enjoyed live music, especially Bluegrass music.

Frances is survived by a daughter; Michelle Cheek Mann of Danville, VA; two sons; Jackie Cheek Jr. and wife Kimberly of Hickory, NC and Odell Cheek of Chatham, VA; a sister; Nancy Elliott; six grandchildren; Stacy Drye (Randy), Johnathan Shelton (Courtney), Cody Cheek, Vanessa Cheek, Mavrik Mann (Courtney) and Megan Steward; and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her Husband and Parents, Frances was predeceased by a grandson; David Shelton; and a son in law; Mark Mann.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 1:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA, with Pastor Lawrence W. Moses officiating. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day from 1-2:00pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
